Name: Frieda B.
Favorite Color: Bright green, because it reminds me of grass when it’s brand new in Spring. I love Spring.
Stuff I’m really good at: Swinging, dreaming, playing in trees, painting rocks, cheering people up, baking, reading, writing, giving hugs.
Stuff I really care about: My family, Zilla, God, my country, people who feel sad or lonely, little kids (littler than me). I really love to hear good stories about people who are helping others. I want to be like that.
One of my favorite books is: A House is a House for Me, by Mary Ann Hoberman. I love thinking about how everything is a house for something.
One of my favorite movies is: Because of Winn-Dixie. It made me see how everyone has good in them if you just love it out of them.
One of my favorite songs is: Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield. Because everyone has a story inside.
If I could go anywhere, it would be: Well, actually, I just got back from this amazing place I imagined called Santaswaree where the sky is bright green and the grass is deep blue and in winter there’s snow but the temp’s eighty-two. But I guess if I had the choice to really GO somewhere, I think it would be the Grand Canyon.
Why I’d want to go there: I love to go places where I’m surrounded by nature so big it makes my knees wobbly. I’m pretty sure the Grand Canyon would make me feel that way.
One of my favorite people in the whole world is: Can I make it two? Because I have to say it’s my mom and my dad. They’re amazing. (And of course Zilla is my favorite non-person…)
If I could meet anyone, it would be: Austin Gutwein. When he was nine years old he used a basketball to shoot free throws to raise money to help kids in Africa who have lost their parents. Today kids all around the world have done the same thing Austin did, and together they’ve raised more than two million dollars to help kids in Africa. All because Austin heard the story of one girl named Maggie and came up with one small idea as a way to help. I think that’s a really cool story.
When I have free time I like to: Dream. Really big.
