* Important: In this workshop you'll be working on the creation of your very own storybook. Each participant should bring his/her own blank book (any book of blank pages will do) - or there's the option here to purchase one or more Frieda B. Storybooks, at a discounted event rate, and we'll have them waiting for you at your workshop.

For Ages 7-100! Bring a child, friend, family member... and Begin the Adventure of Capturing Your Story!

"You will fill up each page over days, weeks and years with your memories and dreams, with your hopes and your fears. Yes, with pencils and crayons and pictures and glue, you will fill up your book with the story of you."

During this workshop, Frieda B. author Renata Bowers will personally guide you and your guests through the process of identifying and capturing elements of your story, via your own personal storybook.

This is not about writing a story of your life. It's about exploring and documenting (via writing, drawing, doodling, posting pictures and memorabilia, cutting-and-pasting, etc.) the things that make you uniquely you... what you're good at, what you care about, your memories, moments, hopes, fears, dreams.  In essence, it's a way of helping you better understand and navigate the story of YOU.

You can come back to this workshop time and again, because each week we focus on a different Frieda B. book and theme, mining a different and significant aspect of story. Each workshop will help you to better capture and consider your own personal story... where it's been, where it is, where it's headed.

So whether you're seven, one hundred, or somewhere in between, a personal storybook is not only a gift to you, but to the world... because the world very much needs every good story, and this process helps you clarify and dream about yours.

Workshop Topic: "Who Are You Free to Be?"

One of the best ways to dream about who you are is to acknowledge and be okay with all the things you're not. After all, each of us is not good at most everything. BUT. There's a handful of things you are really good at, you really love to do, explore, dream about. These are the things we'll be exploring and capturing in this workshop.

This Week's Theme: Frieda B. Herself. Each week at The Story Barn we focus on the theme of one Frieda B. book, and incorporate that theme into all our events.  This week's theme is Frieda B. Herself, the first book in the series.

Story Summary: Here's the book that started it all... Red-headed, bare-footed Frieda B. is the world’s biggest dreamer. With a limitless and colorful imagination, she fully believes she is free to be what she dreams she can be, and so she explores and pursues those dreams with abandon. But when Frieda suddenly loses her dreams one night, how will she recover? The answer will provide inspiration and encouragement to children of all ages, to always believe in your own big dreams – and the very important, one-of-a-kind story you carry inside.
