To encourage children to dream big and believe in their own unique and very important story. That is our mission at Frieda B., and it cozies up incredibly well with American Heritage Girls’ aim to help each girl embrace her unique God-given identity.
Free to B. a Blessing (FBAB) is a program based on the scriptural foundation of the first Frieda B. book, Frieda B. Herself. The FBAB program focuses on helping girls dream big (Eph. 3:20) and believe in their God-given stories (Jer. 29:11), and determine how God would have them live their stories in service to others (Matt. 5:16). Just click on the FBAB logo to the right to visit FriedaB.com/AHG/FBAB, where we’ve compiled every last thing you’ll need to carry out a successful FBAB event or activity.
Free to B. True (FBT) is a two-part program focusing on conflict resolution. Based on Frieda B. Meets the Man in the Moon, and Luke 6:31 (The Golden Rule), FBT presents an engaging and relevant biblical approach for all ages to resolving inner and external conflict by being True to Yourself, and True to Others. You’ll learn how, ironically, conflict can make our lives and our stories, sweeter… and how to embrace (with Zilla!) the adventure that God has planned just for you. Click on the FBT logo to the right to be zipped over to the FriedaB.com/AHG/FBT page, where you’ll find everything you need.
Frieda B. Kindness Ambassador Program (FBKA), based on the third Frieda B. book, Frieda B. and the Zillabeast, is designed to help girls of every age level: 1. work together to personally recognize and thank the kindness of others, all over our country; then 2. share those stories with others, putting them on a Kindness Map, for all to see. It’s a way for girls and leaders and families to look for the good around us – to see and be God’s light in our world – to provide hope and encouragement that God, indeed, is mightily at work among us, through works of kindness
New! Free to B. a Leader (FBAL) directly supports AHG’s commitment to Girl Leadership, and is an intentional complement to the AHG Girl Leadership Positions Guide. FBAL is an ideal kick-off to a Girl Leadership Retreat. Based on messages in Frieda B. and the Finkledee Ink, and rooted in 1 Timothy 4:12, FBAL helps younger girls, as well as older girls and Adult Leaders, explore and apply the concepts of biblical leadership: loving, lifting and leading UPwards. Just click on the FBAL logo to the right to visit FriedaB.com/AHG/FBAL, where you’ll find all you need for an FBAL-related meeting or event.
The Frieda B. series has been named Best Picture Book Series by the National Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. Each book serves as the foundation for each of the Free to B. Programs created for AHG. Frieda B. Herself is the basis of the Free to B. a Blessing Program. Frieda B. Meets Man in the Moon is the book upon which the Free to B. True Program is based. Frieda B. and the Zillabeast is the foundation for the Frieda B. Kindness Ambassador Program. And Frieda B. and the Finkledee Ink provides the backdrop for the Free to B. a Leader Program.

Frieda B. Author Renata Bowers created Frieda B. to encourage children to dream big and believe they, too, are free to be their own one-of-a-kind, very important story. “We each have this incredibly valuable story, like a lightbulb, inside us,” Renata says. “And so many of us either don’t know it’s there, or believe we’re not good enough or have time enough to light it. The truth is, your story is there, always. All you need to do is dream big and flip the switch. God will guide you through the rest.” Renata co-founded Frieda B., LLC with friend Paula LaJoie to create and provide a growing line of books, products and services designed to encourage and inspire the story within.
