Whether in person or virtually...
I love little more than standing in front of a group of students, helping them to grasp the concept that, like Frieda B., each of them is free to be the unique and amazing story they carry inside (autonomy), that each of them is free to be part of a better world by using their stories to encourage and support the stories of others (community), and that they are free to be great, even when things are tough (resilience).
I am passionate about using my books to inspire the stories within children. And I don’t take lightly any opportunity to seek and speak to the whole child.
And so I love author visits. Love them. When I was little, and even into high school, I was sure I would be a teacher. Because I’ve always loved to be around kids. The fact that I’m now blessed with the opportunity to combine my love of writing and speaking with my love of kids, it’s humbling.
Want to bring me and Frieda B. to your school, in person or virtually? We’d love to be invited. Here’s information that should answer the most essential questions... Note that when considering travel, we're located in Somers, CT.
