Private Event for ECHN EHS: Let Them Be Little, at The Story Barn
Let Them Be Little is a program exclusive to The Story Barn for parents and their young children, focusing on self-led play and exploration in nature. Each week, parents and their young children will explore different “play urges” a child intuitively wants to experience, such as climbing, throwing, spinning, hiding. These are known as schemas, and they are good and healthy urges. While sometimes misunderstood as difficult behavior, these schemas are building blocks for a young child’s brain… these repeated behaviors actually forge connections in the brain critical for learning. Led by Story Barn co-owner and children’s author Renata Bowers, who has authored a book titled Let Them Be Little, each weekly session will include light instruction followed by safe and delightful opportunities for parent and child to explore different schemas together, outdoors, along with a storytime and bubble dance party. A great way to spend time with other young families in a peaceful and free-play setting.
